In Greco-Roman mythology the harpy was considered a spirit, or the embodiment of a strong gust of wind. They often have a bad reputation for being intimidating, because of their strength and power. I love the lore of this creature. My harpies have personalities that resemble their namesake. They bring a strong presence to a place.
